The toolbar located in the title bar of TeraCopy offers quick access to various features and settings that enhance your file management experience. Below is a detailed guide to each of the icons and options available in this toolbar:

Sidebar Toggle

  • Icon: Two rectangles (representing sidebar view)

  • Function: Switches between full and compact views of the TeraCopy interface.

    • Full View: Displays all available sections (sidebar, file list, etc.).

    • Compact View: Minimizes the interface to show only the essential elements.

New List

  • Icon: A plus sign (+)

  • Function: Creates a new file list.

    • Note: This option is only available if the current list is not empty.

Clone & Rescan

  • Icon: Two overlapping squares

  • Function: Duplicates the current file list with the same source and target, refreshing the content.

  • Purpose: Useful when files may have changed since the last operation.

Transfers History

  • Icon: A clock

  • Function: Provides access to the history of file transfers.

  • Options:

    • Keep History: You can set the history retention period to 1 day or 1 week.

    • Clear All: Clears all previous transfer histories.

User/Admin Button

  • Icon: A user silhouette

  • Function: Indicates the current user mode (User/Admin).

  • Purpose: Allows switching between user modes if required, managing permissions and access levels.

About

  • Icon: An information icon (i)

  • Function: Opens the About section of TeraCopy.

  • Features:

    • Enter Key: If prompted, this is where you enter your license key for the Pro version.

    • Check for Updates: This button starts the updater to check for and install the latest version of TeraCopy.

Preferences

  • Icon: A gear (โš™๏ธ)

  • Function: Opens the Preferences menu.

  • Purpose: Allows you to configure various settings for TeraCopy, such as file handling options, performance tweaks, and user interface customization.

On Finish Button

  • Function: Selects what action should be taken after an operation is completed.

  • Purpose: Automates post-operation behavior, offering these options:

    • Close app: Automatically closes TeraCopy after the operation is done.

    • Keep the app open: Keeps TeraCopy running after the operation, allowing you to start another operation or review the results.

    • Shutdown: Shuts down the computer once the operation is finished.

    • Sleep: Puts the computer to sleep after the operation is completed.

    • Hibernate: Hibernates the computer, saving the current state and turning off the system to conserve power.
